Chibi Volleyball (Steam) Review.

Do you like beach sports games with cute girls in bikinis?  You do? That's swell! Because today's game just happens to feature those things.  This is Chibi Volleyball for Steam.

Story

N/A

Gameplay

It's cute chibi/super deformed styled anime/manga girls playing volleyball.  The goal is to get a certain amount of points by knocking a ball to the ground that's over your opponents side of the court.  Unlike most other volleyball games, the gameplay only requires you to move around and to bop the ball with your head.

There are some settings to help spice up the game a little.  You can up to four players (humans and/or computer) and you can mess with the weight of the ball and add walls for the ball to interact with.  Yeah, the games content is very, very basic and feels about as detailed as an Atari 2600 game.

The controls are very smooth and responsive and the collision is okay, far from perfect though.  The fun factor isn't much due to the novelty wearing off very quickly. You are going to enjoy this game for five minutes tops before leaving this game to stay hidden forever in your large Steam collection.

Graphics

The graphics are cute and colorful but also very generic, charmless, and super lazy in design.  I've seen 10 year olds who could come up with better character designs.

Sound

Music uses a generic Caribbean styled theme and it is slapped on over the game, where it doesn't mesh well.

Overall, Chibi Volleyball is a functional game, but not a very good one.  It's a cheap cash grab that should've been a free to play web browser game.  Chibi Volleyball gets a 4 out of 10.
