Top 5 Unpopular Video Games I Like

I don't have any special reason for making this list, I just always enjoyed it when someone else did. So, just for giggles I am going to countdown 5 video games that I like and most people call "bad". Click read more.

5.  Sonic R

This game is judged way too harshly for what it is. It is just a simple spin-off racing title that is completely harmless. How this title is almost always on a Top whatever Worst Sonic Games does not make sense to me. The most common complaints I hear are controls bad and not as good as Mario Kart 64. Okay, yes it is not nearly as good as Mario Kart 64, but so what? Different console and owning one does not prevent you from owning the other. Also, the controls are not as bad as you think, you are supposed to use the shoulder buttons to help you turn. Doing that makes a world of difference.
I genuinely have fun playing this because I see it as just a fun little spin-off title, not a main series game. Not great or amazing by anymeans, but fun. Here is an old Let's Play I did of it to demonstrate further.

Please ignore the outdated bumper.

4. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

I understand the disappointment behind this game, but I still don't see it as "bad". Okay, it is not great and the big levels feel kind of empty at times, but the vehicle building can still get creative and fun. Building flying vehicles, crashing because you gave it too much power and not enough balance, and trying out various different new parts is enjoyable. While it is my least favorite Banjo-Kazooie title, I still hold it in a fond regard. Maybe I am just a sucker for the humorous dialog and forth wall references, but I just can't hate this title.

3. Blood Omen 2

Now things are getting controversial. I am a huge fan of the Legacy of Kain series and this title is the worst one in the series that many fans hate because it messed up the continuity in the story. But, while that is true the writing is not great and because it was developed by a different team the continuity was wrong and the follow up title, Defiance, had to add scenes to explain it. , I do not think it is enough of a reason to brush this game off completely. The voice acting is still brilliant, the gameplay is simple but enjoying, and it still has that intense Nosgoth atmosphere.
Interesting thing to bring up is the parallels with with the first Blood Omen on PS1. Writing is amazing but the gameplay is horribly dated.
While the weakest in the series, it is still un to be a blood sucking predator.

2. Fable 3

Yet another title hated for not being as good as it's predecessors. Yes, Fable 1 and 2 were better, but again that does not instantly discredit this game. When I first played this game I found it to be flawed, but fun and pretty funny. My favorite quest is when you are shrunk down and made to take part in this universes version of D&D.
The RPG elements are terribly lacking and the dating sim elements feel pointless. I agree.
However, I still enjoy the combat. I like how I can quickly switch between melee, ranged, and magic and mixing spells was a cool concept even if it was under used. Overall, crappy but fun game.

1. Sonic Forces

I could easily have filled this list with only Sonic games, but I limited myself. Sonic Forces is the game that made me truly believe there is a taboo on liking Sonic. This game launched at $30 and I found it well worth that price. It was not great but a fun time with great music, nice graphics, controls that fixed the delayed input problem from Generations, and had a pretty fun avatar character. Even included free DLC for Shadow.
But, the reviews for this game were brutal to say the least. Almost everyone I saw reviewing this game were trashing it like it was the next Sonic 06 or Rise of Lyrics calling it "bland", too short with bad gameplay, a mess of a story, and terrible in almost every way.
Most of the time I do not agree with Sonic hate but at least understand it, this one I don't. It still has the same fun boost gameplay with tightened controls and "bland" in comparison to what exactly? Running on a magic road through space, being jumped by a giant dragon float, and different wisp powers in the Avatars weapons. How is that bland? Also, how can you complain gameplay is both bad and too short? If you don't like gameplay why would you be upset there is not more of it?
This game is not great but it is not some terrible mess, it's fine. Let me just say, it really stinks being a Sonic fan and Sega kid these days. We have a toxic crazy fanbase and an even more crazy biast hater base. People can like or dislike whatever they want but the hate of Sonic Forces was a huge over-reaction.

Well, these have been some of my unpopular opinions in video games. Next week I will list 5 popular games I do not like just to be fair. Agree or disagree with me, I respect your right to have an opinion so please do the same for me. Until next time, this is Cendoo the Ghost Ranger, signing off.
