Sega have revealed plans and the official logo for the 35th Anniversary of Sonic The Hedgehog which is due to take place throughout 2026. These are early announcements and there has been no news of any new game yet. Considering we had games released during the 30th, 25th, 20th, 15th, and 10th anniversary in the past, I have high expectations that there may be a new Sonic The Hedgehog game this year. It would be nice of Sega to also acknowledge some of their past titles, and port them to modern consoles, or even a new remaster or something. Sega also released an official video teasing the event.
So far these plans only seemed to be based on fan and community events, such as digital content highlighting Sonic’s evolution across the decades, fan meet-ups and community gatherings, exclusive brand and retail partnerships featuring limited merchandise, museum pop-ups and art exhibits, live concert celebrations, and a brand-new narrative podcast.
Surely Sega may surprise us later in the year with a new game announcement which is what mostly all of us are expecting.
We will keep you informed of other upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog related plans and reveals for the 35th anniversary throughout the year.
