The movie that "ACME Did not want you to see" is finally coming out! Releasing globally on August 28 2026, Coyote VS Acme had a panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con. While an official trailer was shown, so far it's not yet released to the public. Apparently there was also about 6 minutes of the film shown to the audience, and a bit of fun banter in between with ACME lawyers trying to cease & desist the Coyote vs Acme panel & audience. Overall, it seemed to be a blast and like many, i'm very glad this movie is finally seeing the light of day, even though we have to wait a bit longer for it's release.
An official poster was also released online, with the release date of "28.08.26", and a famous flattened Wile E. Coyote pattern in the ground.
The film is a blend of 2D animation and Live Action similar to and heavily inspired by films such as 1988's Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It is also said that many other Looney Tunes characters will be making multiple cameo appearances throughout the film. Coyote vs Acme's main cast is Will Forte, John Cena and Lana Condor while voice of most of the Looney Tunes characters is Eric Bauza, who also voiced Bugs & Daffy in the 2025 Looney Tunes film, The Day The Earth Blew Up (another film that was saved after Warner Bros' previous attempts at shelving it). Currently he's been the main voice actor for the regular Looney Tunes characters for some time now.
Coyote vs Acme's plot involves Wile E Coyote suing the infamous ACME corporation after so many failed attempts to catch the Roadrunner. It's based on a 1990 New Yorker article by author Ian Fraizer.
It's great to see this movie is finally in safe hands with Ketchup Entertainment and we look forward to the further global rollout of the film in the next year. We here at Emerald Rangers have been following the film and supportive of its release during the #ReleaseCoyoteVsAcme movement since it was first shelved back in November 2023. It is a thrill for the movie to be finally coming out after all, and it also had its time to shine at the last day of San Diego Comic Con 2025. In the mean time, we'll have to wait for the trailer to arrive.
