With limited edition merchandise such as on demand T-shirts, posters, a 20th Anniversary "Greatest Hits" album, a new album of original music - "The Wrong Crowd", which some fans claim it to be his best album yet, now he's decided to personally compile and release 4 themed compilation albums.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">"I had fun compiling these sets" said Cameron. "It's a great way to go through my back catalog and hopefully you can rediscover an old classic, or find something new!" Cameron also hopes these sets can show you how his music has evolved over the years. Despite never bothering to learn how to read music, understand music theory or knowledge, he prefers just having fun and playing what he likes, whenever he wants. It may be a controversial view to some, but Cameron doesn't care. He doesn't let his critics get him down. <br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Cameron started making music and has been his own independent recorder, and producer since the year 2004. "Back then I was 13 and we always wanted to focus on comedy music because we found it silly and fun." Cameron's first band, The Country Folk People, formed in mid-2004 as well with his friend Stefan Goslinga. There is a song from them on one of these compilation sets. On the "Comedy Classics" version the song "Annoying Sticks" was recorded in August 2004 and released on their 2nd album 'School Sucks!" <br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">"The old Country Folk People stuff is funny, but sadly we are missing a few of our albums. Our debut album, and two others still sadly remain lost. Hopefully some of our old school friends out there has a copy and get in touch with us!" says Cameron. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Cameron has always enjoyed recording what he hears rather than relying
heavily on hugely expensive studio equipment and a large reliance on
electronic technology. He's certainly no perfectionist, but he prefers
it that way. "I don't waste time staying up all night trying to figure
out what goes where or how this mix should sound, etc. Those guys are
idiots and just wasting their time." Cameron explains. <br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The reasoning of these themed compilation sets is to showcase the wide variety of genres that Cameron has covered during his 20 year tenure. But it's not going to stop there, as he promises more albums and stuff in the not so distant future. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Check out the 20th Anniversary compilation albums "BLUES", "ROCK", "COMEDY CLASSICS" and "BORING BALLADS" now on Bandcamp or CD!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Despite his fair share of fans and critics, Cameron vows to not stop making music and having fun for as much as he can. Why Bother Stoppin'? </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> <br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilbI0qiJM4rbn8zc9pJV-2WmxwwofKDbuPUkDEv3l6n0TxqvQ6x08LRu4AE__XRQnLmz_IFzMPR4llk7uO7NDk57E1lgsmfLJmGZF-C7lQ194WWC5bzSAfj22lFeI-8a5P_XYG-5wYDbq0XEU51SVSCxyUkx_IalCaLjpk501Nni1zCRO6RwMVTNXVTFfi/s1400/20th%20anniversary%20cover%20-%20BLUES.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1400" data-original-width="1400" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilbI0qiJM4rbn8zc9pJV-2WmxwwofKDbuPUkDEv3l6n0TxqvQ6x08LRu4AE__XRQnLmz_IFzMPR4llk7uO7NDk57E1lgsmfLJmGZF-C7lQ194WWC5bzSAfj22lFeI-8a5P_XYG-5wYDbq0XEU51SVSCxyUkx_IalCaLjpk501Nni1zCRO6RwMVTNXVTFfi/s320/20th%20anniversary%20cover%20-%20BLUES.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://cameronhons.bandcamp.com/album/20th-anniversary-collection-blues">Cameron Hons Music - 20th Anniversary Collection volume 1: "BLUES"</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Release: March 15, 2024</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Compact Disc, Digital</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Tracklist:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">01. It had an enhanced port of the Genesis' Sonic 3D Blast, an on foot racing game that was unpopular, and Sonic was playable in Christmas Knights into Dreams. Then, there was Sonic Jam which many people brush off as a simple collection game with a 3D hub world. That is partially true, but there is more to this title than a lot of people know. Click "read more" for my review.</p><p><br /></p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p><br /></p><h4 style="text-align: left;">Brief History</h4><div>Sega was not in an enviable situation in 1997. The Sega Saturn was selling poorly and it lacked any big Sonic title. Development on one that would eventually become Sonic Adventure had begun for the Sega Saturn, but seeing as the system was on its way out they decided to move the development onto the upcoming System the Sega Dreamcast similar to Shenmue's development. From the prototype builds of Sonic Adventure, the Sonic World mode on Sonic Jam was made. This is most evident on Adventure's Dreamcast port during the Tornado sections which still used the Saturn 3D models of Sonic and Tails.</div><div><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://64.media.tumblr.com/d58b373c4dddd5807cf90262cac6708d/tumblr_omqtsqZwmG1w1kerio1_400.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="289" data-original-width="400" height="289" src="https://64.media.tumblr.com/d58b373c4dddd5807cf90262cac6708d/tumblr_omqtsqZwmG1w1kerio1_400.gif" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Original Dreamcast on the Left</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div><br /></div><div>The DX Gamecube update and later releases changed these models out for the updated ones. It did also contain a series of missions that are mostly time trial based. These mission consist of tasks like collecting rings, touching flags, and finding tails. Completing all of them will cause a big ring to appear that will allow the player to view the credits. (Sadly Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix were not included.) Now, there are tons of ways to play these titles today, even for the time it would have probably been easier to get the old cartridges. But, these are not emulated roms like other collections, every title was re-done from the ground up in order to run on the Sega Saturn which allowed them to add to the games. Mainly, giving Sonic 1 the Spin Dash and adding difficulty settings.<div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://s3.amazonaws.com/retronauts-www/assets/editorial/2019/11/sonic-jam-easy.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="448" data-original-width="640" height="224" src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/retronauts-www/assets/editorial/2019/11/sonic-jam-easy.png" width="320" /></a></div>A veteran Sonic Player will more than likely default to playing the titles on "original" difficulty which puts the titles the same as they were on the Genesis. But, the other modes are really interesting. </div><div>Easy mode is kind of a joke to someone who has played the titles a lot; shortening levels, adding platforms, and removing acts. It does make completing the game much easier, but also gives less chances to collect the Emeralds.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9_YiQjjBMQekZN7cb2vYa4GBpUeB8zWUEXE8CN5zPIXMRm_R_Lm0W9SvAvVcQyeVgvSDUNcOETOjE3SDR7SQYIkglQrnAGaJRBWUydOKMVBLXWkZ7lXOLLjSUBlWBBQQai7IaNXqwKv4MU1iuxQDaFjWnrmQdsBpldd9u2GhoAUtby3cbQ7Rw1Jb4w_o/s1217/sonic%203%20jam.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="699" data-original-width="1217" height="184" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9_YiQjjBMQekZN7cb2vYa4GBpUeB8zWUEXE8CN5zPIXMRm_R_Lm0W9SvAvVcQyeVgvSDUNcOETOjE3SDR7SQYIkglQrnAGaJRBWUydOKMVBLXWkZ7lXOLLjSUBlWBBQQai7IaNXqwKv4MU1iuxQDaFjWnrmQdsBpldd9u2GhoAUtby3cbQ7Rw1Jb4w_o/w320-h184/sonic%203%20jam.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Amazingly, the Normal mode is the most interesting. (I think this is the only time I can say that with any video game.) Like most gamers glances right past that option without a second thought. It is a bit of a misleader honestly because it is more like a Re-Done version. As much as I love the original games, I will not deny they had some level design flaws that lead to a a few cheap deaths. This normal mode feels like the developers second attempt at the game because it rebalances the games in ways I never realized they needed.<div>To this day, these improved "normal" modes have not been included in any of the collection or compilation games. It is a shame that Sonic never got a proper title on Saturn, but as far as spin-off collaboration titles go, this is one of my favorites. Not a cheap game to come across, but I really feel like this title needs to be more well known. (Also, any homebrew game makers want to turn Sonic World into a proper game? Please?) Take it as you will, until next time this is Cendoo the Ghost Ranger, signing off.</div>Cendoohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18283119958199084319noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-32191811475762132722024-03-10T23:12:00.014-04:002024-03-11T00:31:01.177-04:00I Went To A Five Concert Alone And Had A Great Time<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAGJQoj0UYdKPVBXYOe7ubOiD5s90Juq0znHqXWh-YpXEIVD1XDuRq_EZeBFftfrSvCBMKxamuCpo6bquCVcE7dRgW5PvbEY4lONxqsZ35ksF_nILBpwFSiEfT4LCIrWDY0UC_v0PDQGOCKABLq6viMA7SQHHE5Y0O73gkV8XUor8qYurAANhIvYRewJvu/s1897/PXL_20240310_104703355.MP.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1897" height="333" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAGJQoj0UYdKPVBXYOe7ubOiD5s90Juq0znHqXWh-YpXEIVD1XDuRq_EZeBFftfrSvCBMKxamuCpo6bquCVcE7dRgW5PvbEY4lONxqsZ35ksF_nILBpwFSiEfT4LCIrWDY0UC_v0PDQGOCKABLq6viMA7SQHHE5Y0O73gkV8XUor8qYurAANhIvYRewJvu/w592-h333/PXL_20240310_104703355.MP.jpg" width="592" /></a></div><p><span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p><p></p><p>90's UK boyband Five are currently touring sold out concerts in Australia and New Zealand during March 2024 with local Sydney acts Sister2Sister and DJ Levins. Five are one of those rare boybands from my childhood that, not only did I actually like, but also managed to stick around in the 2020's and even make a great new album out of it a year or so ago. The group these days consists of 3 of the original 5 members, but to the sold out crowd of the 1000 at Sydney's Metro Theatre, that didn't seem to bother them. I was just happy to see the boys back in our shores again after such a long time. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG_kDeE4DmNb8yDECEZM8iRio9b-tK-4Eg_MwMiU44_L4bLBLDSY90Gcxrmp-ROw7AJfDcmB5Zhe7V-1ylY2ZRwd8wTlMq16I3Qifc307MYZrCke9mF8pqtGR7LYeanGbACUuSQO7LDM-9130Fz6VFMlfWlAMDKIwqSHjCi1ODF7uYxzdrXJXRoRdZtD25/s1897/PXL_20240310_103928766.MP.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1897" height="330" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG_kDeE4DmNb8yDECEZM8iRio9b-tK-4Eg_MwMiU44_L4bLBLDSY90Gcxrmp-ROw7AJfDcmB5Zhe7V-1ylY2ZRwd8wTlMq16I3Qifc307MYZrCke9mF8pqtGR7LYeanGbACUuSQO7LDM-9130Fz6VFMlfWlAMDKIwqSHjCi1ODF7uYxzdrXJXRoRdZtD25/w586-h330/PXL_20240310_103928766.MP.jpg" width="586" /></a></div><p></p><p>My story of discovering Five was back in the late 90's. They formed in about 1997 and they were supposed to be the answer to The Spice Girls for boys. Ironically, they would eventually outlive the Spice Girls who went their separate ways in the early 2000's. I remember when 'Keep On Movin'' was a big hit and everywhere. I really liked the song. It had a lot of good energy and positive vibes, just a fun and catchy anthemic song to sing along to. When we were in school, my sister had the original 'Five Greatest Hits' album and I would end up stealing it from her. But that's how I got into them and I loved all of their songs. Sadly, they only made 3 albums in their heydey and eventually disbanded during the mid 2000's, however they reformed a couple of times to much success, and decided to ... <i>Keep On Movin'</i>. The current version of Five features originals Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson and Sean Conlon. Although J Brown and Abz Love are not involved in the new version, they have given the reunion their blessing.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiO9E8F6wdiTuZP9uwXpmQZ2k82TEdSqPQhSHudG2hc6seZAdoZM8Kn65kJkQT9TvEjMRd_zmV4YGjk6erzCtAQDoB0BVULTM5-Prr3Ma_p3Z9lx0H2jJBQ2C7zhJMH59JrOdKEbZ72RX_lgUjrLmONnGSnWzOR3ulEeXMIBCOFnO8JWGev0PKZOkbidBXj/s1897/PXL_20240310_102501636.MP.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1897" height="321" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiO9E8F6wdiTuZP9uwXpmQZ2k82TEdSqPQhSHudG2hc6seZAdoZM8Kn65kJkQT9TvEjMRd_zmV4YGjk6erzCtAQDoB0BVULTM5-Prr3Ma_p3Z9lx0H2jJBQ2C7zhJMH59JrOdKEbZ72RX_lgUjrLmONnGSnWzOR3ulEeXMIBCOFnO8JWGev0PKZOkbidBXj/w570-h321/PXL_20240310_102501636.MP.jpg" width="570" /></a></div><p></p><p>The MC and Host for the evening was local Sydney DJ, DJ Levins who's made quite a name for himself over the years. The meme-obsessed DJ has previously toured with Five and Sister2Sister before. The night started with an unapologetic 1 hour DJ set from Levins, who performed a lot of fan favourite 90's and early 2000's era songs. That's Ok because Five performed for about 105 minutes. A lot of the songs DJ Levins played I knew from my childhood and the audience and myself were all quite happy to sing along to them. The vibes were great, and DJ Levins kept the crowd entertained. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj53N12uvY9H3qaxYb36Gn3shQPssdVqlCdrp63vbWxXxuUuUCXT-gC5STRbXxe7-iaDm3HdbK2SE6EjjvpQImE8nORgEZAK8k-SObJOjlGYbMrhnvFFkcuamgfcH5ycNHRT9o56UwXu7xl5l5zYy8AfG_SRRaaw8T8LwKYTIYqeG2GXgGJHPMC8vR8IIPj/s1897/PXL_20240310_091347453.NIGHT.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1897" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj53N12uvY9H3qaxYb36Gn3shQPssdVqlCdrp63vbWxXxuUuUCXT-gC5STRbXxe7-iaDm3HdbK2SE6EjjvpQImE8nORgEZAK8k-SObJOjlGYbMrhnvFFkcuamgfcH5ycNHRT9o56UwXu7xl5l5zYy8AfG_SRRaaw8T8LwKYTIYqeG2GXgGJHPMC8vR8IIPj/w556-h313/PXL_20240310_091347453.NIGHT.jpg" width="556" /></a></div><p></p><p>The first band to come out on stage was 2000's girl pop duo Sister2Sister, who recently reformed a few years ago, and also have a new song or two out at the moment. I'm not sure if they're working on a new album but it would be nice if they did. The last I heard from this group was back in 2003 when they were really big, so I was already familiar with some of their songs like 'What's A Girl To Do' and 'Sister'. The Muscat singers were happily jumping & bouncing around on the stage for about 35 minutes, and looked like they were having loads of fun. As I mentioned before, it didn't matter that only 3 of them are in a band that they still called Five. People were still here to see a great band perform great songs to a great audience. They opened up with "Let's Dance" then breaking into an absolutely blistering version of their classic cover of Queen's 'We Will Rock You'. You might be thinking that most bands from our era just mime on stage, but no. Five don't mime and Sister2Sister didn't either. I could hear the breaths of their voices during the songs when they were speaking. None of these acts were miming at all throughout the whole performance and their vocals sounded amazing throughout. It's as if they never changed and they were the same band I remember from when I was a kid. They were bouncing around on stage in big retro jackets as if they were still in their 20's. I really enjoyed their new album and I was pleased to see a bunch of new material in the set that the audience really seemed to respond well to. Some new tracks performed were 'Kick The Wall Down', 'Reset', and 'Keep On Movin' (2021 Remix)'. They also performed a couple of rare tracks such as 'Got The Feelin', 'My Song' and 'Lay Your Lovin' On Me', which featured a hybrid mix of the hit AC/DC riff Back In Black, exclusively for the Australian tour much to the crowd's surprise. Of course their big hits, like "Keep On Movin'", "Slam Dunk Da Funk", "Everybody Get Down", "When The Lights Go Out" & more were also performed. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; These decisions not only upset the creators of the content, but also the fans who enjoy them or want to see them. Take the controversy surrounding the movie Coyote vs Acme, a live action animated hybrid featuring Wile E. Coyote, suing the ACME corporation. The film starred John Cena and Will Forte with voices from Eric Bauza. The film was going to be mostly in traditional 2D animation, similar to the style of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Looney Tunes - Back in Action or 2021's Tom & Jerry. Multiple test screenings were held but despite positive reception, WB refused to release the completed movie and were keen to eye it as a tax write off. Despite WBD CEO David Zaslav not actually bothering to see the film in the first place. It would have come out in July 2023, but was replaced by Barbie instead .<br /></p><p>While it's unclear as to what the future holds for Coyote vs Acme, nothing has been announced officially by Warner Bros themselves. Maybe they fear further backlash if they announce that they had already shelved the movie? As they revealed a $115 million tax write off at the end of their Q4 meeting back in February, without listing what films were included. Stephen King's latest completed movie, Salem's Lot, seems likely to have also been shelved as well.</p><p>Many fans around the world including actors from these movies, specially Coyote VS Acme, have started a global movement #ReleaseCoyoteVsAcme, in the hopes of the film to be released.</p><p>A few days ago, a large plot synopsis of Coyote was leaked online, giving others hope that one day the full movie could be leaked on the internet. Actor Steven Ray Byrd, who appears in Coyote vs Acme went on Twitter to confirm that although the plot synopsis missed several key features it was mostly accurate including his appearances. </p><p>However, in 2024 another upcoming Looney Tunes movie is overshadowed by the Coyote vs Acme drama, "The Day The Earth Blew Up" is a fully animated 2D theatrical film that is very certainly coming out this year. which stars the iconic comedy duo Porky Pig and Daffy Duck.</p><p>In early March, the director announced it was fully completed and ready to be released. Many fans were worried that Warner Bros would shelve this movie as well, but they sold off this film to GMF Animation last year, so they are not able to shelve it. This movie will be the first time a fully 2D animated Looney Tunes film hits theaters and Warner Bros should be watching this movie very carefully.</p><p>For whatever reason, this current iteration of WB including the CEO, David Zaslav, seems to hate the Looney Tunes. Not only did they sell off "The Day The Earth Blew Up", they also shelved "Coyote vs Acme" despite widespread praise from actors, audiences, film directors and fans. It's the third film Warner Bros had shelved within 2 years, following another animated film 'Scoob 2 - Holiday Haunt' and the live action 'Batgirl' movie, both scheduled to be released in 2022.</p><p>These 'tax write off' methods are supposed to help Warner Bros save a bit of money to not pay taxes, but to me it would make sense to release the movies and gain a lot more money back from them. They only seem to damage the corporation's image and reputation over anything else. <br /></p><p>If the movie "The Day The Earth Blew Up!" is successful at the box office, this would make Warner Bros feel red-faced, and they should reconsider putting Coyote vs Acme back on the market. We should all be watching. I'm not sure why GMF didn't bother to pick up Coyote VS Acme when it was on sale, but the asking price probably could have been to high. Imagine if WB just released the film and got more money back from all this nonsense in the first place.</p><p>In 2024, the upcoming Spongebob spin off movie - Sandy Cheeks - Saving Bikini Bottom got leaked on X (Formerly known as Twitter) in its entirety. While this surprised and confused fans, many hope similar things happen to Coyote Vs Acme if it isn't released. One way or the other, if The Day The Earth Blew Up becomes successful, hopefully this can send a clear message to Warner Bros. </p><p>"The Day The Earth Blew Up - A Looney Tunes Movie" releases in Cinemas later this year at an unknown date. <br /></p>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-8195051280501806782024-03-06T00:00:00.246-05:002024-03-06T00:00:00.234-05:00Weird Al Straight Outta Lynwood (2006) - Album Review<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQjhnTCV0pySeqnIWgb9o1iM3t-A5ue2LT9_vlnvvcqPwfZH86QPf8nz5z621-HojuR9uY&usqp=CAU" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="225" data-original-width="225" height="400" src="https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQjhnTCV0pySeqnIWgb9o1iM3t-A5ue2LT9_vlnvvcqPwfZH86QPf8nz5z621-HojuR9uY&usqp=CAU" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><br /></p><p>This is a personal matter for me because this was my first album I owned. I was in middle school, and begged my Dad for this CD/DVD and listen to it loads. Even now in my 30s I still listen to some of the tracks from time to time and it has been years since I reviewed an album so, why not look back just for fun. Regardless, this is still one of my favorite singles and probably one of the best introductions to Weird Al in general. It is a Rap about being a nerd sung with a lot of pride and fast but catchy rhythm. Sadly, the video was not featured on the DVD side of the album because of release schedules, but even in 2006 there were plenty of places to watch it, including YouTube and Weird Al's official MySpace. </div><div>The song itself is extremely catchy and funny. The video is very well done with a lot of hidden Easter Eggs. Honestly, I cannot do it justice, if you have not heard it than please give it a try. <b>5/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 2: Pancreas</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tqDBB0no6dQ" width="320" youtube-src-id="tqDBB0no6dQ"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>Original, done in the style of the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds and Smile albums.</div><div>This is a difficult song for me to talk about because I really want to like this track, but I do not. I like the concept of singing about an organ most people know nothing about, the video is funny, and I appreciate silly topics taken seriously. But, I just do not enjoy listening to the song because I find this kind of music boring. Nothing against the Beach Boys, maybe just too much before my time. Still, I can accept this track as something that a lot of people could like, just not me. <b>2/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 3: Canadian Idiot</h4><div>Parody of American Idiot by Green Day.</div><div>This was one of my most replayed tracks because it is so catchy. The music is fast and dance worthy just like the original and the lyrics are sneaky. Now that I can understand some things better, I was worried this song would have aged poorly and sound too anti-Canada. But, no, the lyrics are actually pretty complementary to the country but sang in a way that sounds like mocking. One line that sums that point up, "<i>what kind of freaks are that polite?" </i>Not a masterpiece by any means, but pretty great for a track that was not even a single. <b>4/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 4: I'll Sue Ya</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hbPUo_tuYd8" width="320" youtube-src-id="hbPUo_tuYd8"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Style Parody of the Beastie Boys but pretty much an original Weird Al Rap.</div><div>Yes Yes! I love this. The legal system is so terrible that petty dumb lawsuits are done constantly with the only goal being to steal money. This song lists a bunch of made up lawsuits that sound ridiculous but I could genuinely believe someone would attempt. Even makes fun of Gigli saying it did not need a reason to sue its leading actor Ben Affleck. Funny, Catchy, and the video is extra amusing. The only nitpick I would have is that angry voice Weird Al uses for the whole song can get tiring on the ears, but it fits the tone of the song. <b>4/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 5: Palkarama!</h4><div><br /></div><div>I am not really a fan of the Palka's. They are one line from a bunch of different popular songs of the time sang to some Palka music. It is a funny concept and they are done really well, but I really do not care for Palka music so the experience is tainted to begin with. I will say, as a young person this track did get me to check out some of the songs featured and I ended up a fan of other artists. Also, listening to Weird Al sing "don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me" is kind of funny. Overall, it is a personal taste on this one, I do not hate it but do not find myself seeking out to listen to it. <b>3/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 6: Virus Alert</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zvfD5rnkTws" width="320" youtube-src-id="zvfD5rnkTws"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>Style Parody of Sparks.</div><div>This is what I consider the funniest track on the album. It is about someone showing up at an office and warning everyone about a computer virus that causes all kinds of crazy things to happen. These arrange from messing up your hard drive to making you physically attracted to sheep and loads in-between. All song with fast catchy Art-Rock.</div><div>My brothers and I were in tears laughing the first time we listened to it and the music video only makes it better. One thing about Weird Al music videos is that they are like mini-movies (animated or live action) and not just showing the band perform. Please, give this one a listen. <b>5/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;"><b>Track 7: Confessions Part III</b></h4><div><b><br /></b></div><div>Parody of Confessions Part II by Usher.</div><div>This is an interesting one, not only a parody but a sequel to the original song. Parts 1 and 2 are mentioned, but this time instead of confessing to an affair or knocking said person up on the affair, it is a collection of confessing to smaller and grosser things. These crimes include but not limited too, lying, peeing in a sink, and mistreating pets. </div><div>Much more of a joke song than anything else. Not great but enjoyable, I will often listen too it alongside Usher's parts 1 & 2. <b>3/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 8: Weasel Stomping Day</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/k76IGLi6jWI" width="320" youtube-src-id="k76IGLi6jWI"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Any Robot Chicken fans? Yup, this track/video was made for the Adult Swim show Robot Chicken to be one of their sketches. (That is why it is short.) Not too much to say, it is a happy holiday song all about killing Weasels by stomping them with big shoes. Good for a quick laugh. <b>3/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 9: Close But No Cigar</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PtMU8nvZzOs" width="320" youtube-src-id="PtMU8nvZzOs"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>Style parody of Cake.</div><div>No doubt the least kid friendly track on the album, especially the video. This music video was animated by the Ren & Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi and stars Cigarettes the Cat from one of his web-series. I would honestly not recommend the video because it gets kind of disturbing even without the whole John Kricfalusi controversy.</div><div>The song itself is catchy but scared me away at first, but grew on me. Still, it has issues. It is about Cigarettes the Cat looking for his dream girl and going through 3. All of them great in every way except for one little nitpick the cat has with each of them and he dumps them violently. I understand it is meant as a spoof, but it comes off pretty masochistic. If you are sensitive avoid this track but if you are a fan of darker humor than give it a listen. <b>3/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 10: Do I Creep You Out</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/r_U377vst5o" width="320" youtube-src-id="r_U377vst5o"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>Parody of Do I Make You Proud by Taylor Hicks</div><div>Anyone remember JibJab? The video is an animated one made by JibJab who made similar videos to a lot of songs from different artists. Although I am still not sure if this video was commissioned by Weird Al who he was just a fan of it and made it official. Regardless, it is very amusing.</div><div>The song itself is about a stalker sung from the stalkers perspective. (It does not in anyway promote or defend the serious crime of stalking.) Through the stalkers eyes he sees all his crazy things as romantic but always wondering if he is creepy. Obviously, he is and it ends with his arrest, (if the video is canon) but never loses that calming Taylor Hicks vibe despite the subject. I have been stalked before and I can enjoy this track so you can too. <b>4/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 11: Trapped In The Drive Through</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SHnTocdD7sk" width="320" youtube-src-id="SHnTocdD7sk"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Parody of Trapped in the Closet by R Kelly.</div><div>Weird Al had a challenge on his hands with this one. Trapped in the Closet used to be considered un-parodiable because it was already so crazy. But, Mr. Yankovic did it by making it overly dramatic about something really trivial. The song is a story about a married couple trying to pickup dinner because neither of them wanted to cook. Everything goes wrong from a long line to the employees being not so good. </div><div>I really love this track and often use it as an 11 minute timer. Listening too it almost makes you want to keep following the lives of this married couple. <b>4/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Track 12: Don't Download this Song</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zGM8PT1eAvY" width="320" youtube-src-id="zGM8PT1eAvY"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>First single of the album released. It took me awhile to get it, but this track is actually making fun of the drama over pirating music. When it came out, Weird Al listed it for free download on his website and the video actually sneakily tells you ways to download music. The whole song is sung seriously with a church choir vibe as if it was a real public message. There are even references to real situations where the RIAA sued the elderly and 7 year old girls over burning CD's illegally. While I do not support online piracy, I have high respect for an artist who does not over-react to it. Kind of wish this song was featured on the South Park Episode Christian Rock Hard. <b>4/5</b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><div><b><br /></b></div><h4 style="text-align: center;">Honorable Mention: You're Pitiful</h4><div><br /></div><div>Parody of You're Beautiful by James Blunt.</div><div>This was a song that Weird Al was originally given permission to make but was later denied. Even though it was already finished and legally Weird Al does not need permission to make parodies, he always respects the artists if they do not wish their songs to be parodied. So, he released this one for free. Give it a listen just to spite the hypocrisy</div><div><br /></div><h3 style="text-align: center;">Final Thoughts & Score</h3><div><br /></div><div>This album is fantastic. There are a lot of singles on it, but there could easily have been more. Whenever I listen to it back in the days of CD players, there were only 2 tracks I skipped and that was not every time. While I admit I could be blinded by nostalgia, I still highly recommend this album. I am almost certain there will be at least 1 track you like.</div><div><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">73%</h1>Cendoohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18283119958199084319noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-51970864152428477082024-03-05T04:42:00.009-05:002024-03-05T04:57:37.624-05:00The Pressure Is On For Warner Bros to Release Coyote VS Acme<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdEmfB7avySqQJybbG5Bk_T13VtmVtSswaJSR4y9B4HTc_nt2ZkRkbIByXRBL8ooP1IeeBVaIvoiaVPigustBGVDGdzRgrsrXtsj354K1bmobmIDqG22wj-897Ex6rVJCQg1EqiZMQTS7pIWnoBqFkt-44mwVFkf3cWo4ds6xEs7FtamlTijE0cpVlaynN/s1581/MCDCOFA_EC003.webp" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1054" data-original-width="1581" height="346" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdEmfB7avySqQJybbG5Bk_T13VtmVtSswaJSR4y9B4HTc_nt2ZkRkbIByXRBL8ooP1IeeBVaIvoiaVPigustBGVDGdzRgrsrXtsj354K1bmobmIDqG22wj-897Ex6rVJCQg1EqiZMQTS7pIWnoBqFkt-44mwVFkf3cWo4ds6xEs7FtamlTijE0cpVlaynN/w520-h346/MCDCOFA_EC003.webp" width="520" /></a></div><br /> <span><a name='more'></a></span><p></p><p>As Warner Bros & WBD CEO David Zaslav continue to remain quiet about the fate of the animated/live action hybrid Looney Tunes movie Coyote vs Acme, fans online continue to rally in support of the film's upcoming release. Warner Bros Discovery refuse to share details about the fate of the final film at this time. It's completed, ready to go. They should just release it! Or the next best thing would be for someone to leak it online. Back in early 2023, a animated Scooby Doo movie, Scooby Doo & Krypto Too! was shelved for a tax write-off. Someone leaked the movie online in it's entirety, forcing Warner Bros to backtrack and release it straight to DVD. This would only be the start of a dangerous tax write-off and shelving trend from David Zaslav. A highly controversial move for film studios.</p><p>There is no evidence that the movie has been 'deleted'. The phrase 'deleted' was a misinterpreted take on the word 'shelved' that a lot of media sites preferred to use instead. But if they do decide to not release this movie, maybe leaking it could also save it. </p><p>We need to keep the public outcry going. I am glad more people are stepping up and speaking out against these weird decisions. Looney Tunes is Warner Bros. most iconic IPs. They'd be looney NOT to release it! <br /></p><p><br /></p>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-57402012806504619242024-02-23T23:38:00.005-05:002024-02-23T23:43:02.845-05:00Who Will Save Coyote Vs Acme?<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnHkTcwjBdOrneeg9T0hPl3ERWyBqEFSesqVnB9KNcT_l0yfriTu26ZxPhyIzHbGRE28D7oLzP4GHEn7C0Z7y_a-0kImdbSjWCkFhB6fuB7C9gixxhnRe5wmBqubj4uZZqyYMUhL3nPU354ZvwmUIpRHJvuPepkTtG3xefIcSKJ2Rmlqfk48Zx8_gA-N-8/s1200/coyote-vs-acme-image.webp" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="1200" height="324" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnHkTcwjBdOrneeg9T0hPl3ERWyBqEFSesqVnB9KNcT_l0yfriTu26ZxPhyIzHbGRE28D7oLzP4GHEn7C0Z7y_a-0kImdbSjWCkFhB6fuB7C9gixxhnRe5wmBqubj4uZZqyYMUhL3nPU354ZvwmUIpRHJvuPepkTtG3xefIcSKJ2Rmlqfk48Zx8_gA-N-8/w576-h324/coyote-vs-acme-image.webp" width="576" /></a></div><p> <span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p><p>Today was the Warner Bros Q4 Earnings Report, and some people believed we'd find out about the fate of the upcoming Looney Tunes film, Coyote Vs Acme. Sadly though but as somewhat expected, Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav did not mention anything about the movie at all. Many state that the film is in limbo and plans to be shelved, along with Stephen King's would-be upcoming film, Salem's Lot and maybe a few other movies as Warner Bros announced a <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/coyote-vs-acme-warner-bros-discovery-115m-write-down-mystery-projects-1235832120/">$115 million </a>tax write down, according to Hollywood Reporter this morning. It wasn't mentioned what films were shelved but many people believe Coyote Vs Acme was one of them. Many people, including voice actor Eric Bazua have been critical with this decision and continue to fight the good fight for somehow saving & releasing this movie. The hashtag #ReleaseCoyoteVsAcme continues to trend on Twitter, er...X, daily. Meanwhile, after the Q4 earnings meeting, <a href="https://au.finance.yahoo.com/news/warner-bros-discovery-stock-plummets-141948918.html">Warner Bros' stock heavily dropped</a> since the Q4 earnings as well. Though the studio can't seem to figure out what to do with the new (and Completed, might I add) $70 million Looney Tunes Movie, they are fine spending <a href="https://variety.com/2024/film/news/warner-bros-spending-joker-2-budget-tom-cruise-deal-1235917640/">$200 million on the upcoming Joker 2</a> sequel almost instantly. Like you, i'm very confused. </p><p>Warner Bros are also trying to come up with new movie deals for people like Tom Cruise and Margrot Robbie, for a potential sale or merger of the studio which is expected to occur sometime in April 2024. <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/dec/21/warner-bros-discovery-and-paramount-global-discuss-possible-mega-merger">A merge with Paramount </a>has been discussed for a long time. Until then, who can save Coyote VS Acme? Will there be any legal repercussions from this? Cancelling completed movies for tax write-offs has already gotten a critical response from certain US Lawmakers, but will anything come out of it?<br /></p><p>Coyote VS Acme is completed. It's edited, mixed and recorded. Ready to go. They could announce a release date tomorrow if they wanted. Drop it on MAX or show it in cinemas. This is one of the most talked about movies in Hollywood right now and the amount of free promotion of the film is mind boggling. It's an advertisers' dream. Who will save this movie? Some people say they are planning to leak it. But what's holding them back? Do they have the film or not? It looks like the leakers would be our last resort if Warner Bros refuse to release this movie, or if the Paramount merge happens in April let's see where this will take us. Another shelved film, Scooby Doo & Krypto Too! was shelved but then leaked online in full length. Hopefully the same can be said for Coyote VS Acme, one of the most in-demand films of all time. For the time being, we won't stop talking about #ReleaseCoyoteVsAcme until justice is served, and we can all see the movie and enjoy it.</p><p>That's NOT all folks. <br /></p><p></p>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-49275535594957982662024-02-21T11:44:00.002-05:002024-02-21T11:44:20.142-05:00Tiger Claw Radio #476 - RPG Maker Festival<div id="buzzsprout-player-14547528"></div><script src="https://www.buzzsprout.com/1636816/14547528-tiger-claw-radio-476-rpg-maker-festival.js?container_id=buzzsprout-player-14547528&player=small" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>Critical Failurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07886903483784397685noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-81541999976920700672024-02-19T20:38:00.008-05:002024-02-19T21:17:35.187-05:00Warner Bros Potentially Shelves Another Film In Surprise Twist<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3vMaqgZU7cKkRkzs4UIIt-u1PLJc_U_-MNJX6SBzKGkkRaR5PVFP4_d5TRx2-YyhjJaf_ReJAQMunIdxkRXESjOiO0HD_phxSdbHLjdAPo4e_Ba5Fn64OKi0x3BSRg8CjOUIZtzakiWwkrbBlfw7jc1SS_n2sOVBElljmykxT4qGdxv4P3aAFlw0mPSgQ/s1443/salems-lot.webp" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="889" data-original-width="1443" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3vMaqgZU7cKkRkzs4UIIt-u1PLJc_U_-MNJX6SBzKGkkRaR5PVFP4_d5TRx2-YyhjJaf_ReJAQMunIdxkRXESjOiO0HD_phxSdbHLjdAPo4e_Ba5Fn64OKi0x3BSRg8CjOUIZtzakiWwkrbBlfw7jc1SS_n2sOVBElljmykxT4qGdxv4P3aAFlw0mPSgQ/w498-h306/salems-lot.webp" width="498" /></a></div> <span><a name='more'></a></span><p></p><p>Warner Bros is under fire once again for shelving another completed movie. This time, it's Stephen King's upcoming horror flick 'Salem's Lot', and understandably, he is furious.</p><p>According to Bloody-Disgusting, Stephen shared a <a href="https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3800496/stephen-king-again-tweets-support-for-shelved-salems-lot-remake-from-warner-bros/">Post on X</a> being disgruntled by the fact that Salem's Lot, a film that is completed and tested successfully - is not yet released. Originally it was going to come out in September 2022, but pushed back to 2023, and then taken off the release schedule completely, similar to the uncertain fate of the latest Looney Tunes movie, Coyote Vs Acme, which was also completed, gained positive reception during test screenings, but then shelved for tax write off purposes. A global movement protesting the support to release Coyote Vs Acme has been happening since Warner Bros refused buyers' options of the film, despite it being in demand from Netflix, Amazon and Paramount (who would have given it a theatrical screening). Even Bugs Bunny voice actor Eric Bazua yelled "RELEASE COYOTE VS ACME!" at the 2024 Annie Awards which received a standing ovation.</p><p style="text-align: left;"> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="367" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/T0wtOKWzSjg" width="460" youtube-src-id="T0wtOKWzSjg"></iframe></div> <p></p><p style="text-align: center;">Eric Bazua, current Looney Tunes voice actor yells "RELEASE COYOTE VS ACME!" to standing ovation at 2024 Annie Awards.</p><p style="text-align: left;">Now "Salem's Lot" has sadly a similar unfortunate fate to that of Coyote Vs Acme. Rumors are that it's the next film in line to be shelved by Warner Bros for tax write off claims, in another disgusting and bizarre move from the film company. According to Stephen King himself, he has seen the Salem's Lot film and enjoyed it. Says it's a 'quite good, old school horror film with a slow build but good pay off', and he's 'not sure why WB are holding it back. Not like it's embarrassing or anything" ending the Tweet with "I write these fucking things!" </p><p style="text-align: left;">Shelving films for tax write offs has been a growing subject of concern lately and has even gotten the attention of some higher up US Lawmakers and Senators. Consumer Advocate Lisa McCormick recently <a href="https://njtoday.news/2024/02/13/lisa-mccormick-demands-justice-for-warner-bros-coyote-vs-acme-tax-scam/">demanded justice for the release of Coyote VS Acme </a>and told WB to stop treating the fans like the main character of the film, meanwhile Texas Republican Joaquin Castro has <a href="https://au.news.yahoo.com/democratic-rep-calls-federal-probe-002659283.html">called for a federal probe </a>into cancelling such films for tax write offs, saying it's like building a house and then burning it down for insurance money. Hopefully the same thing can be said about the possible shelving of Salem's Lot. People want to see these movies. They will support them if they are released. These kind of decisions just make everyone feel sad and frustrated. Films are an art. They are made by thousands of people behind the scenes so we can enjoy them. They should be preserved, not shelved and destroyed. While the future is uncertain for both Coyote VS Acme and Salem's Lot, I hope one day the US Government steps in and demands a formal investigation as to why this should be happening and to hopefully get these films released, but in the mean time, people would just have to continue letting their voices be heard. </p><p style="text-align: left;">Maybe we need to start a #ReleaseSalemsLot movement too! Either way, these decisions are not a good look for Warner Bros, as they would need to figure out how to improve their public image if these films do get cancelled. <br /></p>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-6182715317409115192024-02-18T17:58:00.006-05:002024-02-18T18:47:50.302-05:00How Cameron Hons Has Kept Original Music Alive For The Past 20 Years<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJxKS4L_Ftl_7AaQzy4X5Al07l-rxcgD2lUDWFz9Z0JCW6QU3ngOWNlrTBHYzcZDL4KpC5DWS_7UoM8Gj14XIa62iB21TDKhFogIx64RcmDNjpkg5egaH_EXdOD3gIAce5TKZhsRoyaTnzTMW55ReShHtDnirxwMWkdmAFwnrIlRlOBjWkQMCNPuOgnu1d/s1400/367716498_6469217179859364_6573641653840783283_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1400" data-original-width="1400" height="366" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJxKS4L_Ftl_7AaQzy4X5Al07l-rxcgD2lUDWFz9Z0JCW6QU3ngOWNlrTBHYzcZDL4KpC5DWS_7UoM8Gj14XIa62iB21TDKhFogIx64RcmDNjpkg5egaH_EXdOD3gIAce5TKZhsRoyaTnzTMW55ReShHtDnirxwMWkdmAFwnrIlRlOBjWkQMCNPuOgnu1d/w562-h366/367716498_6469217179859364_6573641653840783283_n.jpg" width="562" /></a></div><p></p><p> <span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p><p>Cameron Hons may not be a household name by any means, but this Underground Alternative Comedy Rock musician from Sydney, Australia has been continuing to enjoy making new and original music for the past 20 years. The guy who is behind such songs as "Caught In The Act", "Going Backwards", 'That Sounds Very Elitist", "Texting You At Midnight", "That's Not Rock & Roll" and more As he currently celebrates his 20th anniversary of original music, it surely has been a busy time for the year for him already. At the start, he released a "career" spanning Greatest Hits compilation album - "<a href="https://cameronhons.bandcamp.com/album/greatest-hits-20th-anniversary-edition">Greatest Hits - 20th Anniversary Edition</a>" along with a brand new Pirate Party The Band album "<a href="https://piratepartytheband.bandcamp.com/album/useless-island">Useless Island</a>" - the group's first new album within a year, as well as the brand new Azure Star album that surprisingly came out of nowhere, "<a href="https://azurestarofficial.bandcamp.com/album/feel-the-sun">Feel The Sun</a>". He also recently sold out his Digipak compilation album "<a href="https://cameronhons.bandcamp.com/album/triple-trouble-expanded-edition">Triple Trouble</a>" that only had 100 physical copies, but is still available digitally. The album included original tracks he's recorded with Peter Northcote & Harris Stamos over the years on the one collection. <br /></p><p>Though Cameron does not read music, he has enjoyed being self taught and playing by ear for this entire time. "A lot of people made fun of me for not knowing how to read music." Said Cameron. "According to some idiots, they think when you go into music, you have to have a background of music theory or you suck, but that's not true. Just recently I found out Elvis Presley was another self taught by ear player. A lot of my favourite bands don't really rely on music theory and just play music to have fun and record. That's what I do."</p><p>Inspired by the likes of bands such as Deep Purple, AC/DC, Megadeth, Status Quo, Queen, and Shakin' Stevens to name a few, Cameron started making music back in 2004 with his first band, The Country Folk People with friend Stefan Goslinga. They cut a couple of albums from 2004 - 2006. With tracks like "I Got Hit By A Car And I Died", "Annoying Sticks", "Bush Tucker Mother Fucker" and "Farm Yard Fucks", these kinds of songs would pave way for what Cameron's music would evolve into through the years to come. <br /></p><p>Although he's only made 1 professional studio EP, 2017's "A Whole Lotta Nothing - Best Hits Re-Recorded", Cameron continues to have the enjoyment of making music from his own home instead of always having to hire out studios. "We cut a track for the first Deep Purple Tribute Album back in May 2020 when Covid hit and cancelled a plan to record another Studio EP with the same friend who did "Whole Lotta Nothing" and we were looking forward to it. But when COVID came I just said 'why not come over and record at my place instead." So he did. "The thing we recorded was the drums for the "Never Before" cover. We did 3 takes and chose the best one. I remember the headphone pieces I was using only had 1 side working so I was playing along to the track in mono, but somehow nailed it and at the end of the session he said 'This room has great reverb. The drums sound amazing' and I had to agree. I've been recording music in my own home since 2004." </p><p>While he enjoys the creative process of recording, he does have a fair share of critics. "I get insults from a lot of people, sometimes they make fun of me for not knowing how to read music, to not having what they think is the correct technical set up for music recording, to people who refuse to even bother to listen to any of my new material and think I am terrible based on some old songs I have done which were actually supposed to be funny. There's nothing worse than people coming in and telling you what to do with your own creative process. It used to annoy me but overtime I learned to overcome, laugh off and just ignore them. If I go out of my way to get a bunch of expensive gear and remodel my room into a full on studio with expensive equipment I would not enjoy that at all. The recording gear that I have is for a reason, to make things simple and enjoyable, plug in play & record without all the hassle."</p><p> <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHLx03hTYRJcBi_ckEpQABPanA3vOlL2NnExmkwxyJwiDQrDb2SJu7e6-yPPoFzvFSvbrxg-LlQEp67zRXV4_CJ-Mc9FUaD6n9B0isuCZ6ZryHnaeiXTWOyvgQcsd-_9xL84_FVxpq9aW3Ac6NyPb2SNzTK1a6saeOMSu36pTDbZ2uybXkwfSQHiNjk8Jv/s2048/346083242_978265133341775_2619458327395540305_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="344" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHLx03hTYRJcBi_ckEpQABPanA3vOlL2NnExmkwxyJwiDQrDb2SJu7e6-yPPoFzvFSvbrxg-LlQEp67zRXV4_CJ-Mc9FUaD6n9B0isuCZ6ZryHnaeiXTWOyvgQcsd-_9xL84_FVxpq9aW3Ac6NyPb2SNzTK1a6saeOMSu36pTDbZ2uybXkwfSQHiNjk8Jv/w459-h344/346083242_978265133341775_2619458327395540305_n.jpg" width="459" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Cameron recording music in 2006.<br /></div><div><p>The recording gear Cameron currently uses is nothing more than a Zoom H6 Recorder & a couple of Sure Beta 57 A Microphones. When recording songs especially rock tracks, he prefers using amps over a digital set up and "doesn't really do much" to the songs afterwards when they're recorded to capture the essence of what they originally were. There is no overproduction but he does do some occasional mixing. "I use Gullfoss, a few EQs, and maybe a few things on RX10 but that's about it. I'm not a perfectionist and I don't waste hours trying to get the mix sounding perfect over and over again. If it sounds good enough to me I'll keep it."</p><p>Cameron gets frustrated about the difficulty to get people to listen to music online. "Uploading your music to the internet does have its downsides." Says Cameron, "People online don't have the right attention span, and social media sites like Facebook simply refuse to promote your work. Due to their recent policy change musicians are not allowed to upload music of theirs in videos anymore. X (Twitter) does have a dedicated Bandcamp player which is good. But other than that there isn't really anything. I tried uploading my music to Spotify etc a while back but didn't think it was worth continuing the subscriptions. Mostly I enjoy putting my music up online for archival purposes." </p><p><br /> <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_Yd3kbrarm8JGU_JB2tS8KYRhMKdvn4MdkJ8pQB8FD5grR6lWFCbgdaFeupSdYhqPzBK8Pd4GlbowBWhu3dm3hZ89crrhDbLbbkKqK2qNsurGaVeWBoI-OApmfWx5Q4u_MzXZBprqbwp5hSp7bgU5pSXkP7an0aeZQWU28tWfOnP3fbHWgtfhXQF3FDzj/s947/351359522_270097468850305_2531947660495905173_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="947" data-original-width="810" height="483" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_Yd3kbrarm8JGU_JB2tS8KYRhMKdvn4MdkJ8pQB8FD5grR6lWFCbgdaFeupSdYhqPzBK8Pd4GlbowBWhu3dm3hZ89crrhDbLbbkKqK2qNsurGaVeWBoI-OApmfWx5Q4u_MzXZBprqbwp5hSp7bgU5pSXkP7an0aeZQWU28tWfOnP3fbHWgtfhXQF3FDzj/w415-h483/351359522_270097468850305_2531947660495905173_n.jpg" width="415" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Cameron recording music in 2023</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">At the end of the day, Cameron never bothers to waste time by trying to come up with a smash hit song. "I just enjoy recording whatever I think is a good idea. The "Greatest Hits" album I put out a month or so ago features some songs from mine that I think are the best. I don't care to take notice of any of my streaming stats or whatever. I still enjoy making stuff on physical CD. People like the physical product. Digital stuff means nothing to me." </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">What's next for Cameron for the rest of 2024? "I have slowly started to get a few tracks together for my next album, I have about 10 new songs. I've had a difficult start to the year but it's only a matter of time before I start to record these new songs." Cameron's most recent album of original material was 'YOU CALL THAT MUSIC!' which was released back in November 2023. To make matters worse, Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav hasn't even seen the final film when he made the decision. Fans complained, and Warner tried to sell the film, but were not happy with the offers from buyers such as Amazon, Netflix and Paramount. Paramount would have screened the film theatrically if they would have required it, but bizarrley they all paid lower than the $70 million price offering. The film remains in limbo but there is still about 10 days left before we know its true fate. Many people online around the world are demanding David Zaslav and Warner Bros to reconsider and release the film. A lot of great people put their heart into it, it would be crazy for them to just shelve an iconic piece of Looney Tunes history and a completed movie. <br /></p><p>According to <a href="https://www.rogerebert.com/mzs/coyote-vs-acme-canceled">Drew Taylor from The Wrap</a>, Warner's idea to sell the film was not put in good faith as if another distributor had it and it was successful, it would make Warner Bros look embarrassed. But if they don't want to risk something like that why not just release it themselves?<br /></p><p>The film is completed, and with VFX all done they could easily release the movie at any time. If it turns into a success, that could mean good news for WB. For whatever reason however they seem to be very reluctant to release it. They fear it would not succeed if it gets a theatrical release. How could they know this if they haven't even bothered to release the movie in the first place?</p><p>Now the controversy has escalated as higher law firms in the US are also speaking out against the decision to shelve the film. <a href="https://njtoday.news/2024/02/13/lisa-mccormick-demands-justice-for-warner-bros-coyote-vs-acme-tax-scam/">Consumer advocate Lisa McCormick </a>said "Americans paid Warner $30 million for this movie so the public should be entitled to see it and not be treated like Wile. E Coyote.' Joaquin Castro, meanwhile, a United States Representative said on <a href="https://comicbook.com/anime/news/warner-bros-coyote-vs-acme-us-politician-comments/">Twitter </a>that he's "spoken to the DOJ (Department Of Justice), and FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to do more about stopping film companies cancelling movies for tax write offs, as they are deemed "anti competitive, anti-worker and predatory." Recently, Oscar Winner DANIELS, director of the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once has <a href="https://filmstories.co.uk/news/coyote-vs-acme-oscar-winners-daniels-call-on-warner-bros-to-pretend-this-was-all-brilliant-viral-marketing/">publicly called on Zaslav</a> to "Release the film and pretend this as good marketing". </p><p>With only a mere 10 days left before we find out the true fate of the film, there still may be some hope of the film being released and saved from the chopping block, as Looney Tunes is such a popular IP. Coyote VS Acme is a family movie and would have starred John Cena, Will Forte and Lana Condor in a courtroom comedy. It would have been a nice change from all the boring superhero movies that just seem to get shoved down our throats these days.<br /></p><p>All we can do now is continue to speak up and hope that our voices would be heard. Just recently the upcoming Spongebob spin off movie, Saving Bikini Bottom - The Sandy Cheeks Movie, was leaked on Twitter...er, X, months before its release. Some people are also hoping the same could happen to Coyote VS Acme as it's all completed. All we need is a hero distributor who can come in at the last minute and purchase the movie so we can all see it. Hopefully someone from the movie is sitting on a copy of it somewhere, and I hope one day it would be released to the public. I certainly hope t-t-t-t-that's not all, folks. <br /></p><p></p>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-77481794737113864152024-02-12T14:12:00.001-05:002024-02-12T14:12:14.494-05:00Tiger Claw Radio #475 - Ranma vs NES<div id="buzzsprout-player-14489195"></div><script src="https://www.buzzsprout.com/1636816/14489195-tiger-claw-radio-475-ranma-vs-nes.js?container_id=buzzsprout-player-14489195&player=small" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>Critical Failurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07886903483784397685noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-57430497869517798592024-02-07T17:05:00.007-05:002024-02-07T22:08:35.962-05:00Azure Star release new album "Feel The Sun"<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwnqOf6WyTklrDgW-SJlxaDSZ9OUP08cmxB2eFPtMPhlJZaiJQyXIhcvFB4SWzr7KOIfJGtn98J5mw7l52ii79TaUNXhMP9NLzBwW8WUlS6Ock_nsX2E1QJLsDMCHZqlzMyv0slTXyBa4LCKvU2LRJgfDeRyAFFyYCKmghd8nUIOeJ-imUjjv0xeyOOiUw/s1400/Azure%20Star%20Feel%20The%20Sun.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1400" data-original-width="1400" height="390" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwnqOf6WyTklrDgW-SJlxaDSZ9OUP08cmxB2eFPtMPhlJZaiJQyXIhcvFB4SWzr7KOIfJGtn98J5mw7l52ii79TaUNXhMP9NLzBwW8WUlS6Ock_nsX2E1QJLsDMCHZqlzMyv0slTXyBa4LCKvU2LRJgfDeRyAFFyYCKmghd8nUIOeJ-imUjjv0xeyOOiUw/w390-h390/Azure%20Star%20Feel%20The%20Sun.jpg" width="390" /></a></div><p><span></span></p><a name='more'></a> <p></p><p>It's been 3 years since the last Azure Star album was released, 2021's "Light Years Away". Formed in the early 2000's, Azure Star are an electronic rock duo from Sydney, Australia and Florida United States. The group features Australian comedy rock musician Cameron Hons and American singer Shayne Thames on Vocals. They released their debut EP "A New Generation" in July 2008, and their first full length album "Azure World" in April 2009. "The Azure Star stuff we do is very different to my regular recordings, it's a lot of fun" says Cameron. </p><p>The duo have released 6 albums over the years since their formation. 2009's "Azure World", and it took them 8 years to release their long awaited 2nd album, appropriately titled "Once In A Blue Moon" which featured a noticeably heavier direction than the first record. They went back to their familiar pop outings again for their third album, 2018's "Distant Sun", and turned the heavy back up for their 4th release, "Beyond Horizons". Then in January 2021, they released the anthemic "Light Years Away" album. "For the new album [Feel The Sun] I wanted to go back to our original roots. For those of us who first heard us in the early 2000's, they'd feel right at home with this new album." Cameron said. </p><p>While it may take them some time to work on new albums, the efforts always pay off. Every album they've done has been quite an enjoyable experience to work on or listen to. The track 'Go With The Flow' originally came from the "Cameron's Playhouse 6: The Vengeance Of Voodoo Doctor" original soundtrack, which was released back in 2022. "It was during that time I felt like doing another Azure Star album." Said Cameron.</p><p>Even if you've never listened to them before, "Feel The Sun" is a great introduction album because then you'll go back to the first one and say "Wow, these albums are on the same page." With such a long time between the releases it still shows Azure Star work hard to deliver great albums and fantastic new songs. There is a great mixture of Vocal and Instrumental tracks once again for you to enjoy. Some of these songs feature the classic catchy hooks that you'd once remember or dark instrumental and experimental tracks. A fresh mixture of electronic rock, pop, funk and techno with a heavy 80's synth backdrop in between. <br /></p><p>You can check out the new album "Feel The Sun" on the Official <a href="https://azurestarofficial.bandcamp.com/album/feel-the-sun">Azure Star Bandcamp page </a>today. Some moments had great writing but a lot is left up to interpretation which can be a turn off to some. It is fascinating to watch, but there is actually not a whole lot going on when putting it to paper. I will keep spoilers to a minimum. Click "read more".</p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/i48f4AvS-Pk" width="320" youtube-src-id="i48f4AvS-Pk"></iframe></div><br /><p><br /></p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Plot Summary</h3><p><br /></p><p>The movie takes place entirely on the International Space Station and followed 6 scientists. Three are American and 3 are Russian. Shortly into the film there communications are damaged and nuclear war has broken out between the U.S.A. and Russia and both sets of scientists are given orders to take control of the space station. From there it is constant suspense as trust is put into question and everyone is on edge out of fear of ending up being killed. All the while nobody has any idea of what is going on back on Earth. </p><p><i><b><br /></b></i></p><p><i><b>Spoilers - </b>Ultimately only two of the six survive and the film ends with them heading back to Earth with many unanswered questions. An open ending. </i></p><p><i><br /></i></p><h3 style="text-align: left;"><i>My Thoughts</i></h3><div><i><br /></i></div><div>This is a movie that is great at build up and suspense, but has no payoff. The ending leaves many questions unanswered and is completely unclear about what will happen next. There are a lot of people that like to leave things up to interpretation, but personally, I find endings like this to be lazy writing. <a href="https://www.emeraldrangers.com/2022/10/are-open-endings-lazy-writing.html">See my thoughts on that</a>. One can argue all day about why they like leaving things up to interpretation, but there is no denying that ending a story like that is much easier than writing a satisfying conclusion.</div><div><br /></div><div>This is a case of a good movie with a lousy ending. Does that ruin the experience? Hard to say. I was really enjoying the movie up until the ending because the suspense and buildup was very well paced and, while no mystery, it was not entirely clear what was going to happen and what everyone wanted. But, when it ended without closure it really soured the experience looking back on the film. Visually it is great, space is super realistic and the sights of Earth from space, especially when war breaks out, are gorgeous. So, if you are someone who is into this stuff and do not mind filling in blanks yourself than I would recommend this film. Sadly, for me and anyone who invests a lot in story, it does not satisfy. <b>3/5</b></div>Cendoohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18283119958199084319noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-19782722889423458032024-02-04T15:03:00.010-05:002024-02-04T19:59:39.079-05:00Sega's Unhealthy Obsession With Classic Sonic<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJZYc_rhBiub85JN_J8bRppBaH5koiJdzRuv53uyfaf_XDg4c-uaYeOk-S7hpcRypaAIs0YjB6cJKioGO3FaZ60NMJgbObTxqNXVwkaUdB1ugDv1fAF9smCkyIJqd2Mq6kpNAoiMxdeJfHlipNaHnSKM77BaYv0S_iF3tnjBPza3YP4bG8IebcTwUKV07N/s716/sonic_gen.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="403" data-original-width="716" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJZYc_rhBiub85JN_J8bRppBaH5koiJdzRuv53uyfaf_XDg4c-uaYeOk-S7hpcRypaAIs0YjB6cJKioGO3FaZ60NMJgbObTxqNXVwkaUdB1ugDv1fAF9smCkyIJqd2Mq6kpNAoiMxdeJfHlipNaHnSKM77BaYv0S_iF3tnjBPza3YP4bG8IebcTwUKV07N/s320/sonic_gen.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p></p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p><br /></p><p></p><p> It's not hard to see that Sega have a strange obsession with Classic Sonic. One a lot of Sonic fans are sick of. This week during Playstation's State Of Play, they revealed the strange new compilation/remaster/remake/port of Sonic Generations called Sonic X Shadow Generations. While it's great to have Shadow back in a game, re-releasing Sonic Generations once again makes no sense. It's main base game is a port of a game that was made over a decade ago. Out of all the Sonic games they could have chosen to port to modern consoles , they choose Sonic Generations. While the new Shadow content does look good, strangely that is the only part of the game that looks upgraded graphically while the main game remains unchanged. </p><p>This makes me feel like at one point they would have been planning to remake 2005's Shadow The Hedgehog, which would be great, but half way through during development somebody said 'This is too much content let's just re-release Sonic Generations instead. Apparently this also happened to a potential remake of Sonic Adventure a couple of years ago after Iizuka expressed interest in making one, but the remake was scrapped eventually for unknown reasons and changed over to what would become Sonic Frontiers.</p><p>However Sega are wise to not use third party developers for the new Generations expansion, as previously developed remasters such as Sonic Colours Ultimate, Sonic Origins & Sonic Origins Plus drew criticism from players for being buggy, rushed, incomplete and broken. Those remasters were overseen by third party developers, especially when some of them had no previous experience with developing a Sonic game at all. <br /></p><p>Generations has already been ported a couple of times to different consoles, from Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. A while ago Sega promised to "move away" from using levels like Green Hill, Chemical Plant and Sky Sanctuary because they had been using these levels in the games for the past decade. Fans are getting bored and wanting a change. While 2023's Sonic Superstars featured all new and original levels, looks like they are back at using Green Hill again with Sonic X Shadow Generations. </p><p>2022's Sonic Frontiers was supposed to be an Anniversary game that also included Green Hill Zone, Chemical Plant Zone and Sky Sanctuary Zone. Both 2017's Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces also included Green Hill & Chemical Plant.</p><p>While Sonic X Shadow Generations does use new levels from Shadow's past, it's a shame he has to be included in a game that features Classic Sonic & Green Hill Zone again. If Sega would not stop rushing everything they make, Shadow Generations could have most certainly been its own game.</p><p>It makes no sense to me to re-release an Anniversary Game from over a decade ago and releasing it in Autumn 2024 at a time when it isn't even Sonic's anniversary for 2024.</p><p>Sega just can't resist to have an excuse to use Classic Sonic again.<br /></p><p>Once again the Sonic timeline will be messed up because of this release and I can't wait to see how they try to get around this one. <br /></p><p> <br /></p><span><!--more--></span><span><!--more--></span><span><!--more--></span>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-64354183314340065572024-02-03T07:22:00.012-05:002024-02-03T15:42:10.024-05:001993 Cult Classic Super Mario Bros Film Gets A Crazy New 4K Remaster<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhatf7T9V0z1-Pzjlvy4F2e5rv017T-ejwcFo3F2LdaT_d0T443hBj5mLGYFXKeV1Z-hsWWzDe1v6B2YHEq7C5QmHST2zqVra2-Q36ZIIBB8IoCRRLHxEbi8tvKLTPQkztppkYnW2_6sD20v9c8s4UMY0XgiRvVIXQkOr2SCFxqwyw-jFUI5fryeaupJu8F/s1424/mario-movie-1993.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1424" height="301" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhatf7T9V0z1-Pzjlvy4F2e5rv017T-ejwcFo3F2LdaT_d0T443hBj5mLGYFXKeV1Z-hsWWzDe1v6B2YHEq7C5QmHST2zqVra2-Q36ZIIBB8IoCRRLHxEbi8tvKLTPQkztppkYnW2_6sD20v9c8s4UMY0XgiRvVIXQkOr2SCFxqwyw-jFUI5fryeaupJu8F/w535-h301/mario-movie-1993.jpg" width="535" /></a></div> <span><a name='more'></a></span><p></p><p>The infamous 1993 film adaption of Super Mario Bros The Movie, the first movie ever based on a video game, is getting a brand new 4K upscaling from the people over at Bigger Pictures Film Restoration & smbmovie.com, overseen by Steven Applebaum & Ryan Hoss from the <a href="http://smbmovie.com/">Super Mario Bros Movie Archive</a>.<br /></p><p>Though the original film was a box office bomb back in the day, the movie has gained a popular cult following over the years. Even Quinten Tarintino is a fan!<br /></p><p>There have been several versions of the Super Mario Bros Movie over the years released on various platforms. In 2014 it hit an official DVD & Bluray for the first time from Second Sight Films. This version featured the European 'bubble' film logo on the front cover. It also included the then-brand new documentary 'This Ain't No Game' reuniting directors Rocky Morton & Annabel Jankel, Fisher Stevens, John Leguizamo, and a bunch of other writers & producers of the movie in an hour long documentary reflecting on the highs and the lows of the film's production. </p><p>I grew up watching the Super Mario Bros Movie on VHS as a kid back in the early 90's. I got real excited to see a Super Mario Bros Movie. Back then, I used to rent it out every week. So much times that the video rental store staff said "Did you just want to buy it?" and yes I did. I still own the Australian VHS tape I have to this day.</p><p>Even when I was small, I absolutely loved this movie for being incredibly bonkers and weird as it was. Back then, in the games - Mario didn't have a voice. Mario wasn't three-dimensional. The movie just absolutely blew my mind. And the cast. Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper! It was like Indiana Jones on crack. Though Bob Hoskins famously hated working on this movie, I still consider it as one of his best roles. </p><p>And what a soundtrack! Roxette, Queen, Megadeth, George Clinton, Extreme, Joe Satriani, US3 - and more! This film as a kid got me into a lot of those bands that I still enjoy today. In 2015, I went to see Roxette live at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia. It was a big show. During the encores the lights dimmed, and they came out with 'Almost Unreal' and the crowd went nuts. Hearing the movie theme song live from the band that performed it was truly an emotional and amazing experience.</p><p>Unarguably the 'Holy Grail' of cinema, was when the Deleted Scenes of the movie was found a couple of years ago on a old VHS at a film maker's garage sale. The tapes were bought by the SMBArchive folks, they restored them and shared a brand new extended cut on Internet Archive which extended the film to 2 hours and 10 minutes. A lot of the deleted scenes though were in the original workprint phase. <br /></p><p>In 2021, Umbrella Entertainment re-released the film on DVD & Bluray, this time using the more traditional steel block US poster logo that we all know for the art. The Umbrella Entertainment release was certainly an improvement over the Second Sight release. </p><p>Now in 2024 just off the film's 30th Anniversary, SMBMovie Archive have once again teamed up with Umbrella Entertainment to release a brand new version of the film again. This time it's called the "Lasagna Cut", which features a brand new 4K Upscaling of the original film and new remasters of the recently found deleted scenes from the VHS tape.</p><p>You can check out this brand new and awesome documentary short which shows how they actually remastered the movie for the new release!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CxfMou65c-c" width="469" youtube-src-id="CxfMou65c-c"></iframe></div><br /><p>You can check out the details of the new versions of the 4K Super Mario Bros Movie <a href="https://shop.umbrellaent.com.au/products/super-mario-bros-30th-anniversary-4-k-uhd-blu-ray-1993?_pos=1&_sid=1d0bc8b6d&_ss=r">here</a>! Remote play has been popular amongst many Playstation users over the years, from PS3 to PS Vita. Now it's the PS5's turn, as Sony try to pull a Nintendo Switch for it's latest portable device. </p><p>Before I begin with this review, I must stress that the Wifi in my house for whatever reason is really bad, and it's been terrible for the past couple of months. We can only seem to get great Wifi in one part of the house and not anywhere else, so at the moment playing the PS Portal in my room, is sadly not an option. But that's due to the fault of our Wifi signal that we need to get repaired, and not with the device itself. </p><p>The PS Portal is and isn't a few things. It is a remote player. It isn't a portable console. You can play games on it. You can't watch streaming shows on it. It's almost as if it's nearly but not quite amazing, and once again affected by Sony's frustrating limitations. </p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqowOYLFUqA1cLS6WmL3Ezpgj8I59hyphenhyphenqRCF8G5fkQIrmzkT2XLvjqCBuQRrYRwog7HzbRyLLWunjAF5a4OSPZAYAuWPe31N4oFa61dfBxtG7j-OADwE6u7BdDLTeevhOtXBzNNvwtdDir7tnj8nocCLh-dqfq0wsX95kCwYDzXTo1r6Wq_wntmPQebT4Ws/s2048/425476460_7099987633448979_5752771048704649371_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="299" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqowOYLFUqA1cLS6WmL3Ezpgj8I59hyphenhyphenqRCF8G5fkQIrmzkT2XLvjqCBuQRrYRwog7HzbRyLLWunjAF5a4OSPZAYAuWPe31N4oFa61dfBxtG7j-OADwE6u7BdDLTeevhOtXBzNNvwtdDir7tnj8nocCLh-dqfq0wsX95kCwYDzXTo1r6Wq_wntmPQebT4Ws/w532-h299/425476460_7099987633448979_5752771048704649371_n.jpg" width="532" /></a></div><span> </span><span> </span><span> </span><span> </span>While the PS Portal has a nice screen, it only appeals to a limited amount of people. <br /><p></p><p>As mentioned before previously, the internet in my house is very bad, it's been spotty like this for about half a year where there is only internet in the one part of the house, my lounge room. Even though we have 5G NBN internet for whatever god damn reason, the Wifi signal goes out the opposite way - to the back yard, and not through the front part of the house where all our rooms are. This means it significantly affects the PS Portal streaming gameplay. Sometimes in a spot with bad internet connection, gameplay would completely freeze up and PS Network actually logged me out. But when Wifi is working , it gets a really smooth connection and the image and streaming of the game is really impressive for this little device, which though only has a 1080p screen, can run really well when it does.</p><p>Setting up the Portal was a confusing and frustrating mess. You're greeted to a giant QR code on your screen. You enter your login code for PS Network on your phone. But for whatever reason it didn't acknowledge my phone set up, so I tried my computer. It didn't acknowledge my computer log in either. On the very bottom of the screen there is a very small text that says "Log in manually" so I did that and it worked after spending about half an hour frustratingly solve those annoying Sony captchas. </p><p>When the wifi was working the PS Portal was actually playing really well. I tried Sonic Frontiers, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart and a few other PS4 games. </p><p> </p><h1 style="text-align: left;">Battery Life</h1><div style="text-align: left;">Battery Life is a solid 5 - 6 hours. On my first go I had used it for about 4 hours and so far nit a single sign of battery drain until the first hour or so. That is very impressive for a portable handheld even on big games such as Sonic Frontiers and Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Connectivity</h1><div style="text-align: left;">It was very confusing setting up the PS Portal for the first time. Though the internet in my house is very poor, that wasn't the cause of the PS Portal. Once I could get the online working it was actually a very smooth and stable experience. Sometimes it would drop out and didn't like to be moved around very much. I'm sure over time Sony would provide better stability through updates for the console but they probably won't.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Screen</h1><div style="text-align: left;">The screen is actually really nice and good quality. It's an 8" 1080p LCD screen. It's a lot better than the Nintendo Switch which only runs at 720p undocked mostly. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Controls</h1><div style="text-align: left;">While it looks awkward the controls are actually very comfortable. It's just like a regular PS5 controller with built in haptic feedback and everything. While you are playing the PS Portal the controllers light up blue which is a nice feature if you are in a dark room and still want to see where the buttons are.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Portability</h1><div style="text-align: left;">This is where I think the PS Portal falls flat. Although it's advertised as a portable player, you still need to have your PS5 connected. So if you go on holiday you will have to leave your PS5 in Rest Mode for the entire time you are away. The PS Portal can connect to any network, tethering or hotspot as long as you have a strong connection. However, if you have a lot of disc-based games, the PS Portal is not for you. How is it possible for you to change a disc of the game while you are somewhere else. I have a lot of digital games, so that is OK for me. I can swap them with ease. But for someone who is an avid physical collector and owns discs, this device is not for you. It is not a device like the Nintendo Switch where you can easily insert a cart or something.<br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Streaming </h1><div style="text-align: left;">Sadly, you can not access the "Media" option on the home menu through the PS Portal which I think is a major disappointment. It would be awesome to stream Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video etc on the go from this device. If the games run well on 1080 screen then the streaming videos should do so too. Hopefully Sony should add an update to support this feature. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Sound</h1><div style="text-align: left;">You can connect any pair of headphones to the PS Portal except no Bluetooth devices. For whatever reason Sony has been anti-Bluetooth since the PS5 launched. However, I had used my wired overhead TaoTonics with the device and the sound was fantastic.</div><div style="text-align: left;"> </div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Price</h1><div style="text-align: left;">$329 is surprisingly cheap for a Sony product in 2024, considering the PS VR 2 was a whooping $850 which was almost the same cost as the regular PS5 in itself. However you need a PS5 to run it so it isn't a standalone console. <br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"> </div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Final Verdict</h1><div style="text-align: left;">The PS Portal is certainly not for everyone. I think it only appeals to a small variety of people. Remote Play seems to be only popular with hardcore Playstation gamers. I got it because my parents watch a lot of TV, sometimes they binge watch shows for hours and I get bored and sometimes want to play a game or if i'm playing something that is inappropriate or something not of their tastes I would play the PS Portal on that specific game. When it works it works, but I recommend connecting it to a 5G network as I ended up doing, not a 2 GHZ network. While the overall functions are good it's a shame the Streaming services seem to be blocked and that would have been a great selling point to stream shows on the PS Portal as it has a really great screen and very useful when you need it. It isn't perfect but there is certainly room for improvement.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">The PS Portal is out now from all video game retailers and now available in Australia from February 2 2024. I was not provided with a review code for this review.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Pros - </h1><div style="text-align: left;">- Sharp, clear 1080p LCD screen</div><div style="text-align: left;">- Solid controls </div><div style="text-align: left;">- You can play your PS5 while your TV is in use</div><div style="text-align: left;">- Long battery life</div><div style="text-align: left;">- Easy to handle and charge</div><div style="text-align: left;">- Play major PS5 games or PS4 titles on it with ease</div><div style="text-align: left;">- Sound both inside the console and with headphones on is fantastic</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><h1 style="text-align: left;">Cons -<br /></h1><div style="text-align: left;">- Relies on a strong internet connection<br />- Confusing set up </div><div style="text-align: left;">- You can't use the streaming apps linked to your PS5 on the Media tab</div><div style="text-align: left;">- PS Portal only connects to the device while in rest mode</div><div style="text-align: left;">- More suitable for people who own the Digital version of the PS5</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><p></p><span></span>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-15503757879865960992024-02-01T15:15:00.006-05:002024-02-01T17:02:25.723-05:00Sega Uses Green Hill Zone Again In Latest Trailer For Odd Remake Of A Remaster<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDZH8NUrTX1aSykfFh45_dReDG7oltRPOcRHt749HRROjJxZl-Lqwmw2LjRS8Fkqhndvz6c7IosmTPdtl-DOeP42eO-YN7UaMcKi-Wtyf0rPa4Q7EkZ9zbkwDJAdcKV3ovlRy9celuKLr9k6lfVis9GESFJ0gRH__rEFOGDzT3gVaznmvWEyBh0XxctEFF/s828/State-of-Play-_-January-31,-2024-11-20-screenshot.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="466" data-original-width="828" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDZH8NUrTX1aSykfFh45_dReDG7oltRPOcRHt749HRROjJxZl-Lqwmw2LjRS8Fkqhndvz6c7IosmTPdtl-DOeP42eO-YN7UaMcKi-Wtyf0rPa4Q7EkZ9zbkwDJAdcKV3ovlRy9celuKLr9k6lfVis9GESFJ0gRH__rEFOGDzT3gVaznmvWEyBh0XxctEFF/s320/State-of-Play-_-January-31,-2024-11-20-screenshot.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><span><a name='more'></a></span><p>Sega just dropped a new trailer for a bizarre remake / mash up which was rumoured to be in development for a while. The game is called SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS, which seems like yet another version of 2011's Sonic Generations. Previously it was ported to Xbox One X a couple of years ago along with Sonic Unleashed. After previously promising to move away from Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant Zone levels, the promise lasted only a few months. Now Sonic Team are keen to remind all of us that Green Hill Zone exists once again. In the new trailer, Green Hill Zone was used an abusive amount of the video until Shadow shows up and takes over the game, showcasing new levels from games such as Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow The Hedgehog.</p><p>While i'm disappointed that this isn't a full blown remaster of 2005's Shadow The Hedgehog, it is nice to finally see Shadow back in the spotlight after Sega have blindsided him this past decade. He also plans to make his own theatrical debut in 2024's Sonic The Hedgehog 3 which comes out in December. </p><p>My question is, if Sega can get a remaster like this done - what is stopping them from doing a remake of Sonic Adventure & Sonic Adventure 2 like this? Is this a sign of things to come maybe? I am curious to see how it turns out and hopefully we can see more remakes like this of older Sonic games again in the future, as classic Sonic gets way too much attention these days.<br /></p><p>Check out the trailer below. Sonic X Shadow Generations is due out in Autumn 2024. Let's hope it doesn't contain as much graphical pop ins as Sonic Frontiers did.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CDmVayEU76w" width="320" youtube-src-id="CDmVayEU76w"></iframe></div><br /><p><br /></p>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-84542358683606946652024-01-30T20:48:00.009-05:002024-01-31T19:00:03.958-05:00Aussie Music Festival "Pandemonium Rocks" Sydney To Relocate After ANZAC Day Clashes (UPDATE)<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmPqLrAbjBLM5SThaehN9gEvpbIGRPuz_gwan69zU4pbBXgyreeQ2VTf1i5yo1UOOhGBbMe1U7UND3RRduYl1dTCYLkbpsrGGop3R1CUgYiEWhtPkKDoxneaXUQ7PsBIn8W_zGto-W-JxREKdenE2Qh0awlbk9t77TGA1KfkCRd_K4Doc3-v3XO785twvh/s851/419930695_122121142646138694_8105565338130839874_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="315" data-original-width="851" height="242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmPqLrAbjBLM5SThaehN9gEvpbIGRPuz_gwan69zU4pbBXgyreeQ2VTf1i5yo1UOOhGBbMe1U7UND3RRduYl1dTCYLkbpsrGGop3R1CUgYiEWhtPkKDoxneaXUQ7PsBIn8W_zGto-W-JxREKdenE2Qh0awlbk9t77TGA1KfkCRd_K4Doc3-v3XO785twvh/w656-h242/419930695_122121142646138694_8105565338130839874_n.jpg" width="656" /></a></div><p></p><p><span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p> UPDATE 2: Cathy Freeman Park in Olympic Park is the new venue for the relocated "Pandemonium Rocks Sydney" that still plans to be held on April 25, according to <a href="https://www.9news.com.au/national/anzac-day-rock-concert-moved-to-new-sydney-location/3ceeca69-b434-4e11-8ff1-15bf26f3587a">9news </a>this morning. <br /></p><p></p><p>A new Australian rock festival boasting the lineups of rock artists such as Placebo, Blondie, Dead Kennedys, Wolfmother, Cosmic Psychos, Alice Cooper & Deep Purple has sparked backlash between Diggers & veterans who take part in Anzac Day. But now, the original line up of James T Kaiser and Cameron Hons return for a brand new album - "Useless Island". "We never really left" said Cameron. "We'd still been around but hardly streaming and stuff, I guess health & life got in the way, and when you're making content your health comes first." </p><p>It wasn't until New Year's Eve 2023 the duo did a new stream, and the discussions were starting to come back about making a new album. "We started having a few song ideas, but no title." Cameron says. "Then for some reason, I got a great idea - 'Useless Island'". </p><p>What is the origin of the album title?</p><p>"I got banned from my original news writing ground for a 2nd time on some dumb Sonic fan site. This time I got so fed up with it that I wanted to get banned, so I spammed their discord server again." Cameron explained. "I thought that place was useless - hence; Useless Island is the title." The cover depicts Cameron's friend, Stefan Goslinga from a 2020 episode of Cameron's Playhouse as the character Bushman Joe. "I had this screen in mind. He did comment on it and said he hope'd he'd get some royalties" he laughed.</p><p>The new album has a variety of different styles and music. It's very reminiscent of the first few albums we did where we were very experimental with a wide range of different styles of music. The band are in their 5th anniversary in 2024, and "Useless Island" will be their 14th album. It seems ridiculous but Pirate Party The Band have released a record-number of albums every year since their formation in 2019. The ideas kept on coming, but it was nice to have a break for a while from it and coming back was helpful because more new ideas kept on happening.</p><p>The duo features James T Kaiser on lead vocals, and Cameron Hons on Vocals and all instruments. It's been the same line up since their formation. "When I started to do new songs for the new album, James wasn't sure of the title 'Useless Island.' But when I sent him the first song, it was the title track I think, he really enjoyed singing these songs again and said it reminded him of the earlier albums we did."</p><p>The proclaimed 'Meme obsessed' Pirate metal band from Australia, originally started out as a band who was based on their favourite video game, Sea of Thieves, which was what the Pirate Party name came from.</p><p>"We know it's been a long time since our last album but we made sure this new one was worth the wait." Cameron said. There's even a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" with a 9 1/2 minute Drum Solo from Cameron as well. <br /></p><p>If you've heard their albums before, you'll feel right at home with 'Useless Island'. "There are two types of fans of ours," says Cameron. "The people who don't get us, or the people who do. But the people who don't get us are funnier."</p><p>"Useless Island" by Pirate Party The Band is out on CD & Digital January 30 2024. Check out the new Lyric Video for the song "Sea Of AssHoles" about Cameron's old writing place that he since left.."</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="364" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dGAwOdAfb94" width="483" youtube-src-id="dGAwOdAfb94"></iframe></div><br /><p>"Useless Island"</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPGKUSstVujFXFDeqiH52JOAEOCKlri-Tf2O2rhjeotzCNhyKnWTj3wKGBQpvkOUKJ-qtnYhe4kfQtGXM41mq3qTTRzDZm2J7HIIXwdCXWMdcfihz6DFvP_NgUkyAlKYA43sGdNqLZT_PyU58aiFwWciCsoeLQV9V3IbYuOrViMHsXXUqFVEqISLgnG4C3/s1400/Useless%20Island%20Cover%202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1400" data-original-width="1400" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPGKUSstVujFXFDeqiH52JOAEOCKlri-Tf2O2rhjeotzCNhyKnWTj3wKGBQpvkOUKJ-qtnYhe4kfQtGXM41mq3qTTRzDZm2J7HIIXwdCXWMdcfihz6DFvP_NgUkyAlKYA43sGdNqLZT_PyU58aiFwWciCsoeLQV9V3IbYuOrViMHsXXUqFVEqISLgnG4C3/s320/Useless%20Island%20Cover%202.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p></p><p style="text-align: center;">01 Pirate Party Tonight<br />02 Useless Island<br />03 I've Got A Surprise<br />04 Bastard In The Blowhole<br />05 Pirate Police Report<br />06 Another Holiday In Papua New Guinea (Feat. However, things may be finally shaping up for the show, as fans have genuinely welcomed the quality of Season 35's current episodes.</p><p>Previous seasons tend to be a hit or miss, or repetitive & recycled stories that are largely forgettable. I remember the past few seasons haven't been that memorable, with Season 31 being probably, in my opinion the worst season of the show i've seen in a long time. Some of my biggest issues with the modern seasons, including Season 30 is that they kept on using too many outside writers. One episode that I disliked the most was "Bart VS Itchy & Scratchy" - not only would it be something that he would never do, but it tried too hard to relate to real world events in a mostly cancel cultured way. Other times, entire episodes would have been drawn out parodies of a show or movie that I have never seen nor cared to watch.</p><p>Season 35 seems to ignore all of these issues, and goes back to using most of the regular writers & Dan Castellaneta seems to be executive producer on most of these new episodes. </p><p>Another thing, Homer's stupidity seems to be going back to the original classic era as he isn't as aware of it as he once was in past modern seasons. So far this season doesn't rely so much on random background characters that you haven't seen for ages, instead other interesting things happen, for example - Homer accidentally becomes a crossing guard, Marge worries about her kids growing up, one of Comic Book Guy's favourite action figures gets broken by a mysterious villain, for example. These stories are more basic and reminiscent of classic episodes of the show rather than trying to fit in the modern times that is now.</p><p>I think the only episode of Season 35 I didn't enjoy so far was the Treehouse of Horror episode, although I did like the 2nd segment with Lisa altering the Sideshow Bob episode, but the other 2 segments fell flat. NFT's aren't scary. </p><p>Nevertheless I have been quite satisfied with the new direction of the show, and hope it continues so more episodes of the series can be good again in the future.</p><p>The Simpsons Season 35 is now streaming on Disney+ <br /></p>Cameron1391http://www.blogger.com/profile/16707716597741826150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-9702963588840930722024-01-24T21:28:00.004-05:002024-01-24T21:28:48.784-05:00Arcade Classics (Sega Genesis) - Mini-Review<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjynuNoRbPgghH-9WGobdc7OcXKd9p3Y0x-ld55Ch3_WJeF18N_Ae0JzH-TyEifvUxUor75AuBwiWQ7S3zShOpL-jnuZOaZQzgg2EgbAa-VZnjQFa8ma7bEI0SqJ3r6dBcCI69d7Q0vTIQUzoULfYvfV5IfOc2WtG5_qe4_-lwkoECEOo7hlIG3Yz2w_Mo/s500/unnamed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="318" data-original-width="500" height="408" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjynuNoRbPgghH-9WGobdc7OcXKd9p3Y0x-ld55Ch3_WJeF18N_Ae0JzH-TyEifvUxUor75AuBwiWQ7S3zShOpL-jnuZOaZQzgg2EgbAa-VZnjQFa8ma7bEI0SqJ3r6dBcCI69d7Q0vTIQUzoULfYvfV5IfOc2WtG5_qe4_-lwkoECEOo7hlIG3Yz2w_Mo/w640-h408/unnamed.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><br /></p><p>An interesting title from my collection, an arcade compilation on Sega Genesis. Centipede, Missile Command, and Pong. All three titles have both the orginal arcade version as well as an updated Sega Version where the presentation is modernized. (Modern for 1996 Sega Genesis specs.) All arcade versions are faithful ports, the Sega Versions are mostly visual updates. Like most arcade titles of the time, these are High Score challenges and do not have an ending. Except Pong which which is a one on one game where first to 15 points wins.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Fqys1UizNqM" width="320" youtube-src-id="Fqys1UizNqM"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Missile command's Sega version has more details for the buildings you are meant to protect and the targets. Of the 3, this is my favorite on the collection.</div><div><br /></div><h4 style="text-align: left;">UltraPong</h4><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/szaoMo0gndM" width="320" youtube-src-id="szaoMo0gndM"></iframe></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Yup, Action 52 is not the only way to play Pong on Sega Genesis. There is also UltraPong which is the same base game but has more colors than black background with white lines and dots. Playing Pong with a D-Pad is never ideal, but it is still fun with a friend.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><h3 style="text-align: left;">Final Thoughts</h3><div><br /></div><div>This is an interesting title to own. There is not a lot of merit to owning it nowaday because all of these titles have much more convenient methods of playing them and the Sega Versions are novel, but nothing worth hunting out for. Still it is an interesting part of history if for nothing else than a game collection could be solid with only 3 titles. These are all Atari-esc titles which generally are a fun note but do not have a whole lot to talk about. If you simply desire to play one of these classic arcade titles than this collection is not a bad option, but far from the only or most convenient. Primarily for Arcade or Sega enthusiasts. <b><i>3/5</i></b> </div>Cendoohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18283119958199084319noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1824543448104660651.post-49300631597973360812024-01-22T15:24:00.005-05:002024-01-22T15:24:52.076-05:00Tiger Claw Radio #472 - Discovering Dragon Warrior III<div id="buzzsprout-player-14356347"></div><script src="https://www.buzzsprout.com/1636816/14356347-tiger-claw-radio-472-discovering-dragon-warrior-iii.js?container_id=buzzsprout-player-14356347&player=small" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>Critical Failurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07886903483784397685noreply@blogger.com0
